About the adventure

Players enter a small carnival. How they enter is their first problem to solve. Then they will get to play games at the carnival all the while something creeps just outside of their vision. All characters will lose something. But they will gain much more. This is a prelude to a bigger adventure. Once there is some confidence built up on how the game works I plan to run this bigger adventure. This game feature "Fey" creatures who are whimsical and silly. It is up to the players (kids) to decide how they get into the carnival and what games they want to play. The "lost things" are what the strange shadows take from the characters. The character's ability to laugh, or keep secrets, sense of direction, sense of fashion and a few others. But Please leave that secret to the kids discovery it is part of the fun.

About me

In 2021, my son- then 14 -wanted to get his friends together to play D&D. We started a campaign with 4 of his friends. This led to my younger son, age 12 at the time, getting his friends together for a campaign...and eventually my youngest son joined in with his friends. I have run D&D games for birthday parties, and special 1 shot theme games for Halloween and Christmas. Outside of the games that I have run for my own kids, I work as a licensed therapist in Pennsylvania. Most of my career has been spent working with children and families. I have 300 professional games through Start Playing, and I will be running games at a local convention for the fourth year in a row.

What Adam brings to the table

The number one thing I provide is safety. I am a working therapist and work about half my time with children and families. I take child safety very seriously. With the exception of 3 years where I worked with adults exclusively I have been working with children since I was a teen in 1994. I will have character sheets and visuals for the Player's as well. We will be using DnD Beyond and DnD Beyond Maps exclusively.

How Adam creates a safe table

I go out of my way to make sure all players are comfortable. This means I work hard to build trust with players and that players do not use hurtful words or name call for any reason. I am very accepting of LGBTQ players and work with several trans kids in my daily work. While this adventure will have characters losing something from themselves I do not go out of my way to be creepy or scary.
