About Adam
In 2021, my son- then 14 -wanted to get his friends together to play D&D. We started a campaign with 4 of his friends. This led to my younger son, age 12 at the time, getting his friends together for a campaign...and eventually my youngest son joined in with his friends. I have run D&D games for birthday parties, and special 1 shot theme games for Halloween and Christmas. Outside of the games that I have run for my own kids, I work as a licensed therapist in Pennsylvania. Most of my career has been spent working with children and families. I have 300 professional games through Start Playing, and I will be running games at a local convention for the fourth year in a row.
My game style
I think a strong mix of role play and combat is the best way to engage kids. Strong stories produce stronger engagement for most kids, but action and doing things is also engaging. I think the dice, the players, and telling the story the module wants to tell is what is most important. I can provide danger when needed and I know when to loosen the reigns and let the players have fun. I'm always down for the rule of cool and getting off script a bit.
